Our Mission
Benenden Pre-school offers a secure, positive and stimulating environment in which children are supported in making continued individual progress in all six areas of the foundation stage curriculum. Every child matters in this inclusive setting, where we provide a valuable step between home and primary school, working closely with parents and carers to support their child's development.

Some Testimonials
Mrs S. - I moved into the village 3 years ago and felt it was important to get my children into Benenden pre-school so they could make friends that lived locally to us. My eldest fitted into preschool life very quickly and made lots of friends all of whom moved up into the primary school with her. It also helped me get to know lots of mums who have become my friends too. My youngest is now at Benenden Pre-school and thoroughly enjoys it even asking to go on her 'at home' days.

Mrs B. - My Daughter Maddy had a wonderful couple of years at Benenden Pre-school. She couldn't have been happier there and skipped in every day. The atmosphere was always warm, friendly and secure with plenty of playing and learning opportunities.

Mrs M. - Before we moved out of London to the village of Benenden, I called the Benenden Pre-school to see about placing my 3 year old daughter there. Mrs Darracott couldn't have been more helpful or informative. On my first visit I saw that though the school was small the attention and love lavished on the children was apparent. My daughter went to the pre-school for two years and I couldn't have asked for a better start to her school life. She has made firm friends who will be with her forever. The pre-school helped her become the confident, caring child she has become. Thank you Benenden Pre-school, for the best start to my child's life.

Security
Both of our garden gates have external locks, which are out of children's reach, and inside we have a security chain that is put on as soon as the session starts. Any visitors must sign in on arrival. Children may only be collected by someone who has previously been registered with us, unless you have made other arrangements with the staff beforehand. There is a car park at the rear of the building and we recommend that parents use this.

Our Home
We are very lucky to have our pre-school in such a beautiful building. This was built in 1881 for Lord Cranbrook as a Working Man's Institute and in 1940 it was even used by the Home Guard because of its commanding position on the crossroads. So although the pre-school has been in the building for over 40 years the building itself has been standing for over 125 years.

Our Garden
We have a great secure garden with a lawned area to run around or play games on, and a play area with climbing frame, sand-pit and play house. There is a wide range of ride-on toys to choose from, and raised flower and vegetable beds which the children help plant and maintain. The garden has a huge friendly tree which gives the children plenty of shade on a summer's day, and is lovely to sit under for story time.
